update

I've been really busy lately! Time is just flying by!
Tennis just started up and it has been fun so far!
It's an amazing feeling to be back out there.
This weekend I went by my high school.  While my tennis team went to region and state every year,  This was the year we came in first!
I went home this weekend to visit my parents for my mama's birthday!
On Saturday, they went shopping with me before the UGA/FL game.  I have been in need of a dresser and found a great deal!  Here are some pictures of my dresser (that I'm SO excited about) and my parents hanging out in the cute store we found it in.
Then we got some boiled peanuts! My favorite :)
While we were shopping, I got some awesome ideas for crafting!  I've been contemplating getting a big old shutter of sorts for above my fire place.  This small version of what I want to do inspired me to get busy!
David and I are really excited about decorating for our first Christmas as a married couple!
I mean REALLY excited!
This small tree inspired me on so many levels.  Think about how easy this would be?!
Cute right?  I think this one was for a little girl, but there are so many possibilities!
I'm looking forward to spending my Thanksgiving break crafting!  Now if it would just get here!

I hope you are having a great Monday!

marrrriiieeeddd :) :)

I have officially been married 11 days!  And they have been the most amazing 11 days!
I have so much to talk about that I don't even know where to start!  BUT I guess I should start with the beginning!  The first major event of wedding weekend was the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner.  It was an amazing time spent with family and our best friends.  It was held at the University of Georgia's Center for Continuing Education and it was beautiful!  Decorated in our Southern theme!  So today, I will be posting some pictures from the dinner.  I'm excited to share them with you!  While the weekend was such whirlwind, David and I had the time of our lives!

My plan is to go through the whole weekend blog by blog and even our honeymoon in Mexico!  We are busy getting back to reality this week, but are so grateful for all of the people that took time out of their schedules to celebrate our love with us.  And we are crazy in love :)

My dad and I practicing walking down the aisle!  David and I were married at the University of Georgia Chapel!
Practice makes perfect!
Did I mention I had to most precious flower girls in the world?
My beautiful bridesmaids at the Arch!
My dad and I at dinner!
Mama and I at dinner!
My HUSBAND and I at dinner!!!
Three of my main men!
My sister and I with our HUSBANDS!!

The dinner was amazing! I hope you enjoyed the pictures! There are a lot more and you will be able to check them all out on my Facebook soon!

I will be updating the look of my blog this week as well!  Stay tuned!

four day weekend friday

Today was beautiful... main reason, I had the day off!!! Woo hoo! I think teachers are happier than the students on holidays. With today off and my conference this week, I really only taught 3 days! It was a refreshingly short week! A big shout out to all the presidents that I will be thinking about on Monday while I'm sleeping in again ;)

This week I've had my students working on a Medieval Magazine. I changed the project up from what I normally do and unfortunately, did not have an example for them. I stayed up really late Wednesday night creating this masterpiece for my students as an example. (Then I totally passed if off like a former student did it!) This is the cover.

Now if you haven't tried Sparkling ICE yet, then you are seriously missing out! This zero calorie water drink has the carbonation of soda and the flavor of fruit! Yummmmmy! My favorite flavor... Lemon Lime.

What's great about having random days off? Filling them with doctors appointments.

Drove to Marietta to visit my parents :) Just before I left, I lost my phone in my apartment for an hour. I found it in the refrigerator. How do things like that happen?

Came home to my sweet daddy, who made me stir fry. Be jealous, it was yumtastic. In case you are wondering, of course its a word.

Can't wait to snuggle up here tonight and dream sweetly! Home, sweet home!

Now I'm about to watch the Office and Revenge with my dad. Hope you all had a great week as well. I'm linking up with Lauren from High Five for Friday for this post. I'm so happy the weekend is here!

the giving tree

Semester after semester the classroom supplies I have provided keep disappearing. Markers, pencils, pens, scissors, glue, computer paper and more seems to keep walking right out of my room! So I wanted to come up with a fun way to get students to bring supplies in!

I saw a similar idea on another blog and took it a step further. I painted a tree on a piece of poster board, dye cut apples out of red paper, and painted the leaves green. Then I printed out just a few supplies my classroom desperately needs.

Open House was disappointing. I had just a handful of parents come and none take an apple from my Giving Tree. Well let me tell you this.... I am so thankful for this season of sickness in my classroom! Suddenly, my students are realizing the need for tissues and other supplies. Slowly but surely, I have seen more and more apples disappearing and more and more supplies appearing. I am so thankful for the goodness some people have in their hearts! ❤
