#H54Friday

It's the weekend again!  I'm now officially on Thanksgiving break!
And I couldn't be happier.  Seriously, it is much needed.

Last week my students put on a mock trial.  I was the judge and it was so much fun.  It was the hardest I have seen them work all year, and I was very impressed.
Other than spending time with David, the best part of my day is coming home to see Hazel.  I just can't help how much I love this dog.  With David studying all of the time, it's just me and her.  We've become attached.  When I come home, it's just me and her.  If I take a shower, she waits outside the door.  If I cook dinner, she lays by my feet.  We're two peas in a pod.
David and I spent our last date night at the Radio City Rockettes!  They were amazing!  Their outfits were beautiful, and they danced perfectly!  We also had awesome seats, which was a major plus!  It was fun to do something different than our normal dinner and a Redbox!
I had LOTS of grading to get done before Thanksgiving break starts.  The boys in my class think they are hilarious... and well, this did make me laugh.
Can't wait to see the DAWGS destroy Kentucky tonight!
Last night, me and Hazel went for a walk on North Campus and by the stadium.  It was really fun!
I hope your weekend is off to a great start!

more on fall break + high five for friday

This week I'm going to be linking up with Lauren Elizabeth at High Five for Friday!  It's been a long time since I've participated in this one, but I'm excited to start doing it again!

1. Fall break was very busy.  I got a lot done!  I desperately needed a break from the 106 moody teenagers I deal with daily.  I was able to get a lot of household things done that I have been putting off and visit family!  I had a great passenger for all of my travels...
2. Our first stop was to see my grandma.  We were able to spend the entire afternoon with her!  My aunt came over, and we helped her put a pumpkin together.  It was really cute!  That night, my dad took my grandma and I to see the Barefoot Contessa!  It was a really neat show.  I enjoyed listening to her talk about her love for cooking and tips.
3. Hazel has had quite the exhausting week.  She has played hard.  She plays especially hard with my sister's dog Margo.  We went over late one night and let the two puppies play around.  It was really fun.  When I got back to Athens, David and I went to a beautiful wedding at the Melting Point!  We had such a great time!
4. The next morning, David ran in a half marathon!  It was a great morning for it!  I drank some Dunkin' coffee while he trotted along.  Hazel got to go as well, and again, wore her out!  However, we managed to get a family photo!
She smiled, don't you think?  These few days back have been stressful reminders of why I needed this break in the first place!  But my little bulldawg is getting me through!  Can't wait to snuggle with her all weekend!
5. And best for last!  Today is my beautiful mama's birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY to an amazing woman!  I love you so much mama!

TIRED

This past weekend two of my best friends came to visit me!  We had the BEST time!  We laughed so hard and had a great time catching up.  We went to dinner and a concert together.  It was such a great time!  However, I have been totally exhausted ever since!  Still catching up on sleep!

OVERJOYED

We went to the UGA vs. LSU game this weekend!  It was the most exciting game I've ever attended in the Sanford Stadium!  I screamed until I lost my voice, cheering as loud as I could!  There was this feeling of pure joy radiating off everyone in the stadium!  We won 44-41!  It was an amazing experience.

FOOLED

Today, I attempted to trick my 3rd period class.  We have a little prank war going, and I am currently losing.  At the end of 2nd period, I turned all the desks turned over and stacked them against the walls.  My plan was to run up to my mailbox in the school and return just as the bell rang.  I was going to pretend like I was mad at them for turning the desks upside down and stacking them against the walls!  Unfortunately, they realized what was going on as soon as they got there.  Before I got back, they had moved all of the desks on top of, underneath, behind and all around my desk.  Guess they won this time!

WARM

October, it might just be my favorite month of the year.
The weather is perfect and everything smells of warm spices. The leaves start changing into beautiful colors.  It's just perfect.

That's all for today, just enjoying this amazing weather and season.

UGA vs. SC

UGA has a bye this weekend, so that means Athens, GA will be just a little bit slower.  However, it gives me plenty of time to keep thinking about that amazing win last weekend!

On Saturday, I went onto UGA's campus to tailgate for the day.  I had no intentions of going to the football game at 4:30.  I didn't have a ticket and they were selling for a minimum of $100.  Through some amazing circumstances,  I ended up with pretty amazing seats at the UGA vs. South Carolina football game.  I just have to share the pictures I took with you!

Oh, and did I mention the tickets were free?  The first is a picture on the way to my seat...
And now for the view from my seat on the 2nd row, 50 yard line!
Look at that sea of red and black!  Beautiful!
If you look just below the middle of this photo, you will find the one and only... Mark Richt!
And #3, Todd Gurley grabbing some water!
Lastly, Aaron Murray just warming up his arm!
Needless-to-say, it was an AWESOME experience!

GO DAWGS!

saturday with dad

This weekend my dad came to visit!
When he got here, we went around Athens for awhile before picking David up for a UGA basketball game!  My dad had a bunch of tickets, so we took a few other people with us!
It was my FIRST UGA men's basketball game!
I had been to the women's before, and every other sporting event at UGA, but this was a first for me.
It was so fun!
UGA beat Texas A&M and I even got to see a fight in the last few seconds!
After the game, Dad, David and I went to try out a new BBQ place in Athens.
Pulaski Heights BBQ was definitely good and unique!  Especially the building!  So cool!  But I think that Fresh Air is still my favorite BBQ in Athens.
Hazel was excited to see Dad!  She loves people!  Even more than other dogs most of the time!
She is getting bigger!  She weight 17.5 lbs two weeks ago, but she's still pretty small.  She is still as cuddly as ever too!
I think I've finally got my sewing machine figured out, so I'm excited to try out a few things I've pinned on my Pinterest boards for the day I got one!
Hope you are having a great weekend too!

thankfulness

So it's been awhile...
life has gotten in the way again!

Just before we went on Thanksgiving Break, I got the flu.  And I had it for roughly two weeks.  It was so awesome, but not really.  Let's just say if my kiddos have something, I always get it!  Thanksgiving break was just what I needed to get over it for good!

We kicked it off with a GEORGIA game!  David and I had such a good time!  We even got to help Uga crowd surf!  To be honest, I'm probably a little too proud of the picture below.  I whipped out my phone so fast and jumped off the bleacher to get this beauty!
David has officially kicked off finals and all the fun studying that comes with it.   So I went to visit my parents for a whole week!! It was so much fun!  But just before I left, David and I celebrated 5 months of marriage.  And how much fun we've been having!

We treated ourselves to a Last Resort supper, Jittery Joe's coffee, and a walk around North Campus.  And of course, I had to have the chicken praline.  I get it every time and it never disappoints.

Then we ate an incredible lunch at Five Star Day, just before I hit the road to spend some quality time with the fam! Soup and salad!

Over the last week, we made our first step towards celebrating our first Christmas together by participating in Operation Christmas Child!  We love knowing that we have made some litter girl's day.  We highly recommend you get involved if you are interested!

And speaking of celebrating...my sister was almost a turkey baby!  We got to celebrate her birthday on Thanksgiving this year.  My grandma made a HUGE peppermint ice cream cake for Claire!  It was three times as big as her head!  She is 24 now... wow she's getting old!

And her precious dog, Margo LOVED helping her open gifts!  She can seriously rip up some paper!

It was so great to see so much family over Thanksgiving break!  I am so thankful for David, my family, job, and church.

Now I just can't wait for the weekend!

all things fall!

My favorite time of year is here! FALL!
I just love EVERYTHING about fall!  Pumpkins, the air, the leaves, boots, UGA football, cool evenings, apple picking, and visiting the mountains.  It's all so perfect!
Every year, David and I take a day trip to the mountains.  We fish, hike, pick apples, eat BBQ and get a pumpkin.  It is always a perfect day :)
We've already started talking about what day we are going to go make our trip this year.  Until then, I'm pinning and planning all of the fall projects that I want to get down.
Pinterest can just be so inspiring.

I'm usually very traditional when it comes to pumpkins.  I stick to square eyes, a triangle nose, and a mouth with three, maybe four teeth.  But maybe this is the year for change?
I am loving these chevron pumpkins!
Baking with pumpkin, yum!  My sister loves to give me a hard time about pumpkin pie.  I used to complain about how much I hated it.  To be honest, I think it's an acquired taste.  Nevertheless, I really like pumpkin pie now.  I love this cute idea for a pumpkin!  What a cute kitchen deocration!
If I've never said it before, you should know that I LOVE GLITTER.
All things glitter, sparkle, and sequin.
All things that SHINE! Yes, I love it all!
So if you tell me that I can make my pumpkin a glitter pumpkin.
It's pretty much going to happen!
Street numbers painted on pumpkins. How cute!
I will end the pumpkin obsession here, with this precious front door display!
What a cute idea, to use them as planters!

Now I'm going to get ready to cheer on the DAWGS!!!!
It's Saturday in Athens!!
It's been awhile since I've updated.  Life has really gotten in the way!

Or really, riding on hot buses to volleyball games far away.
It will really wear a person out!
This past Wednesday I joined a new Bible study group!  I'm really excited about the other women I met and what God is doing in their lives.  We are doing a Kelly Minter study on Nehemiah.  And it's been really great so far!
This weekend, my sister and bro-in-law came up to Athens for the UGA game!  They brought their precious dog with them.  Margo had full reign of our place while we were all at the game.  I loved getting to love on this snuggle muffin for a little bit this weekend!  She is seriously the best dog!
Recently, I've gotten really into couponing.  I'm not one of those people that just buys stuff to buy it because it's cheap/free.  But I do love getting some savings.  While I was at the Dollar Tree, I picked up this beauty to help keep me organized!
Tomorrow is Oh How Pinteresting! Wednesday and I have some GREAT pins this week!  I can't wait to share!

Have a GREAT Tuesday!

go dawgs, it's saturday

Commit to the G.

It's Saturday in Athens!

Insta-Tuesday

For Insta-Tuesday, I will catch up on my life through Instagram pictures!
Since last week, I have been busy, busy, busy!  I am SO happy we had a three day weekend!  I think it's finally helped me get over the hill with this cold I've had!  I always catch something from one of my kiddos in the first couple weeks!  So happy that's over with!

First, I watched a lot of the Republican National Convention.  If I haven't mentioned it, I teach Government.  And I love politics.  I started keeping a journal of government quotes.  I write one down every day.  Liberal, conservative, general observations... all of it.  My goal is that next semester, I would have enough to have a Quote of the Day, everyday.
My volleyball team was undefeated (and even won a tournament) until last week.  We lost one game Thursday night.  Losing makes you stronger though, right?
And where else would I spend a Saturday in Athens when there is a home game?  That's right, I was there to see Gurly run those amazing touchdowns!  And I have the sunburn to prove it! GO DAWGS!
After the game, the hubs and I went to dinner with my parents.  Then spent our "date night" at this movie.  I highly HIGHLY recommend it, whatever your beliefs are.  I would also highly recommend reading President Obama's book, Dreams From My Father.  I cannot stress enough that Americans need to understand foreign and economic policy much better.
And now that I'm off my soap box, I made the carrot chips!  They were really yummy and SO easy!  David and I chowed down on them.  Perfect snack!
We also spent part of this weekend celebrating the marriage of David's cousins!  We had so much fun!  I haven't uploaded my pictures yet, but I did capture her precious favors on Instagram!  Missy made the cutest monogrammed mason jars for us to drink out of at the wedding and take home!  What a GREAT idea!
I hope your Labor Day weekend was as relaxing and fun as mine!  I can smell the amazing supper my husband has been working on in the kitchen now!  It pays to marry a chef :)
