TGIF! Today, I'm linking up with Lauren for High Five for Friday!

1. I got my first issue of Cooking Light magazine this week and have really enjoyed looking though it.  I have so many ideas for new and healthy recipes now!
2. This week, one of my students surprised me with candy!  It was such a sweet gesture.  She brought in cupcakes  for the whole class and sugar free peanut butter cups for me!  It made my day.
3. My little snuggly puppy has been extra sweet lately.  I think it's because she knew bath day was coming soon, and she wanted to postpone it.  We have always known how much Hazel loves tv, but recently, we saw a commercial that really got her going.  It had golden retrievers in it. She goes crazy pacing  back and forth in front of the tv!
4. I discovered sugar free BBQ sauce this week!  Thank you Paula Deen for making my life a whole lot better!
5. Celebrating the UGA v. Florida football game tomorrow in St. Simons, GA!  We are having a blast so far--walking the beach, playing volleyball, and enjoying friends.  I found a group of ZTA's (my sorority) on the beach!  It was cool to see them and know we have a lot in common. David and I have also had time to squeeze in some fresh seafood!
How was your week?

more on fall break + high five for friday

This week I'm going to be linking up with Lauren Elizabeth at High Five for Friday!  It's been a long time since I've participated in this one, but I'm excited to start doing it again!

1. Fall break was very busy.  I got a lot done!  I desperately needed a break from the 106 moody teenagers I deal with daily.  I was able to get a lot of household things done that I have been putting off and visit family!  I had a great passenger for all of my travels...
2. Our first stop was to see my grandma.  We were able to spend the entire afternoon with her!  My aunt came over, and we helped her put a pumpkin together.  It was really cute!  That night, my dad took my grandma and I to see the Barefoot Contessa!  It was a really neat show.  I enjoyed listening to her talk about her love for cooking and tips.
3. Hazel has had quite the exhausting week.  She has played hard.  She plays especially hard with my sister's dog Margo.  We went over late one night and let the two puppies play around.  It was really fun.  When I got back to Athens, David and I went to a beautiful wedding at the Melting Point!  We had such a great time!
4. The next morning, David ran in a half marathon!  It was a great morning for it!  I drank some Dunkin' coffee while he trotted along.  Hazel got to go as well, and again, wore her out!  However, we managed to get a family photo!
She smiled, don't you think?  These few days back have been stressful reminders of why I needed this break in the first place!  But my little bulldawg is getting me through!  Can't wait to snuggle with her all weekend!
5. And best for last!  Today is my beautiful mama's birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY to an amazing woman!  I love you so much mama!

high five for friday

Friday is finally here! I had a short week, so I don't have much room to complain. But nonetheless, very ready for the weekend!

I went home for the long weekend. My parents and I did a lot of wedding planning, shopping, and catching up. It was fun. I also got to catch up with this little rascal... only the most precious looking puppy (cough...6 pound dog) ever.

My mama and I ate dinner at Gabriel's! YUM! If you are from Marietta, you know what I'm talking about. Gabriel is Paula Deen's cousin, and trust me, her food is just as yummy! I remember when Gabriel's was just a dessert shop and we would pick up cream de mente brownies for special occasions.

Ate Thompson Brothers BBQ Chicken with my mama and dad. It was YUMMY.

Visited the eye doctor this week. I had the joy of getting my eyes dilated. Let's just say that since I've been doing it about every three months, I'm a pro.

We picked out and ordered tuxes this week :) June 16th gets closer by the day!

Tonight, David and I went on a dinner date to Five Star Day and walked around North Campus. We couldn't believe it, but the UGA Chapel was open! So we went in. I mean, why not? We are so excited! Only 92 more days!

All in all, it was a great week! Looking forward to getting crafty this weekend!

friday favs

I am SO happy we finally made it to the weekend! I am in need of some serious R&R! My parents are coming to visit me and we will be doing some wedding planning and I'll also have my "niece" with me! (No, my sister didn't have a baby, but she does have the most precious dog in the world!) I'm linking up with High Five for Friday and Friday Favorite Things today!

This week we had parent night. Although we were are school until late Tuesday night, I really enjoyed spending time talking with my coworkers in between parent meetings. You will see the best planner I have ever owned below! I just love everything zebra striped! However, I'm thinking about purchasing a Erin Condren for next year... we'll see!

Here is a glimpse at an Erin Condren life planner... I mean how precious is this! Being organized makes me happy, but mix it with colors and you have perfection! I LOVE how you can keep EVERYTHING in this one planner!

Tonight was date night for me and David. However, after dinner it turned into us running errands and watching the weather channel. We went to get sushi at Sakura. It was so yummy! Little did David know, that his sushi would be delivered to the table on FIRE! It was SO cool! It was the Volcano Roll-tempura shrimp inside and topped with shredded crab.

Lastly, I want to share Day 1 and Day 2 of #marchphotoaday with you! Day 1 the topic was "up". The last two days have been so beautiful! I couldn't help but put my sunroof down and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine on the way home from work! Todays topic was "fruit". I had no idea what I was going to take a picture of at first. But then, because we ate at the sushi bar, they gave up a plate of oranges to finish our meal off with! How convenient for my photography challenge!

I will be posting these to Instagram and Twitter daily! Feel free to follow me!

I hope you had a great Friday and week! I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend :)

four day weekend friday

Today was beautiful... main reason, I had the day off!!! Woo hoo! I think teachers are happier than the students on holidays. With today off and my conference this week, I really only taught 3 days! It was a refreshingly short week! A big shout out to all the presidents that I will be thinking about on Monday while I'm sleeping in again ;)

This week I've had my students working on a Medieval Magazine. I changed the project up from what I normally do and unfortunately, did not have an example for them. I stayed up really late Wednesday night creating this masterpiece for my students as an example. (Then I totally passed if off like a former student did it!) This is the cover.

Now if you haven't tried Sparkling ICE yet, then you are seriously missing out! This zero calorie water drink has the carbonation of soda and the flavor of fruit! Yummmmmy! My favorite flavor... Lemon Lime.

What's great about having random days off? Filling them with doctors appointments.

Drove to Marietta to visit my parents :) Just before I left, I lost my phone in my apartment for an hour. I found it in the refrigerator. How do things like that happen?

Came home to my sweet daddy, who made me stir fry. Be jealous, it was yumtastic. In case you are wondering, of course its a word.

Can't wait to snuggle up here tonight and dream sweetly! Home, sweet home!

Now I'm about to watch the Office and Revenge with my dad. Hope you all had a great week as well. I'm linking up with Lauren from High Five for Friday for this post. I'm so happy the weekend is here!

high five for friday :)

Today I will be linking up with Lauren who blogs at From My Grey Desk! Basically, you post your five favorite things that have happened to you recently or you've seen!

First let's start with my favorite buy of the week! I absolutely LOVE spending time at Hobby Lobby. I mean, I could honestly just look at things for hours on end! Well, I have good news for all of you who love Hobby Lobby as well. They have a new section! Near the cards, you can find the Dayspring area. They have inspirational note cards, books, journals, AND mugs!! Which is why I couldn't resist this awesome buy! Introducing, my new favorite mug!

Secondly, I started the week of just right in a chat session with my BFF's! I mean it was just perfect and put me in a GREAT mood!! They don't know I took this picture (my face froze a lot). So if Maggie or Layla read this... SURPRISE! Love y'all!

One morning a week, I get to play volleyball with two girls from my team! In the off season, coaches can only work with players two at a time. It was really been fun. The girls totally make getting to work at 6:45 worth it. This picture is from the hallway my classroom is on at 6:45 this morning. It was so peaceful.

I always look forward to The Vampire Diaries and it never fails to surprise me!

And obviously the best part of the week was this commercial. Only the best Super Bowl commercial out there :)
