marrrriiieeeddd :) :)

I have officially been married 11 days!  And they have been the most amazing 11 days!
I have so much to talk about that I don't even know where to start!  BUT I guess I should start with the beginning!  The first major event of wedding weekend was the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner.  It was an amazing time spent with family and our best friends.  It was held at the University of Georgia's Center for Continuing Education and it was beautiful!  Decorated in our Southern theme!  So today, I will be posting some pictures from the dinner.  I'm excited to share them with you!  While the weekend was such whirlwind, David and I had the time of our lives!

My plan is to go through the whole weekend blog by blog and even our honeymoon in Mexico!  We are busy getting back to reality this week, but are so grateful for all of the people that took time out of their schedules to celebrate our love with us.  And we are crazy in love :)

My dad and I practicing walking down the aisle!  David and I were married at the University of Georgia Chapel!
Practice makes perfect!
Did I mention I had to most precious flower girls in the world?
My beautiful bridesmaids at the Arch!
My dad and I at dinner!
Mama and I at dinner!
My HUSBAND and I at dinner!!!
Three of my main men!
My sister and I with our HUSBANDS!!

The dinner was amazing! I hope you enjoyed the pictures! There are a lot more and you will be able to check them all out on my Facebook soon!

I will be updating the look of my blog this week as well!  Stay tuned!

gratefulness

If I haven't mentioned it already this week.... I'M GETTING MARRIED SATURDAY!!!!!
I could not be more excited!! I got all packed for my honeymoon tonight and now I'm just waiting to say, "I Do!"

I saw this on Pinterest and thought how true it is of how David and I want to live the rest of our lives.

And seriously, we can't wait for the weekend to start! It's going to be so fun!

what to cook?

The official countdown to my wedding is now 4 DAYS!!!!! I'm over the top excited :) :)

However, this blog is going to be about after the wedding. And after the honeymoon.

It's about food.

I feel as if the first meal I cook as a married woman is an important one.  So I have very carefully selected several dishes -all Pinterest and blog inspired- to choose from.  AND I would MUCH appreciate having your opinion on the matter!  So let me know what you think would be the most memorable first meal for my new hubby in my comments!

Oh and did I mention this is a 3 course meal?  Well, it is.  And carb-free/low-carb, sugar free?  Well, it is.  Setting my goals high people.

Possible Appetizers

Cauliflower Pizza
Skinny Spinach Dip
Hot Chorizo and Cheese Dip

Possible Dishes

White Chicken Enchiladas
Chicken Picatta

Possible Sides to a Chicken Dish

Zucchini Cakes (No Flour Added!)
Fake Mashed Potatoes! (I've been dying to try these!)

Possible Dessert
Frozen Peanut Butter Pie

Okay, I know the Peanut Butter Pie doesn't look sugar free, but it is flour free and I can do a lot with the ingredients to get the sugar out!  But again, let me know if you have any suggestions?  What are your favorite main dishes, etc.?

Getting excited!
Love,

wedding wedding wedding

Sorry it's been awhile since I posted!  I have seriously been "going doing making" for the wedding nonstop these days!  We only have 10 days until the BIG day!!!! And we couldn't be happier!  I've been up to a lot these days.  And some of it I need to wait and show you after the wedding!  Don't want to spoil the big day for anyone!  Today, my mama and I left for Athens in the morning and spent a long day running errands and meeting with people!  I also had my make-up trial run today :)
Eating at Marti's at Midday is a HUGE treat for me!  Since I'm usually on a 21 minute lunch break... haha.  And it never fails to be amazing!  I had the curry chicken salad... YUM!  Now usually this comes with tons of yummy pita chips to eat your chicken salad with, but for the insulin resistant-I just go without!
Not to make it seem like all we did was eat today, but we tried out a new restaurant in Athens!  For those of you who are familiar with the city, it's next to Brumby on Baxter, where Jimmy John's used to be!  It's called Skogies and it was awesome!  You pick a protein (grilled or fried) and a side.  My mama and I both had grilled shrimp with broccoli salad!
Lately, I've been trying out some new hair products and I have TWO absolute favorites!!  The first is Psssst! Dry Shampoo, which I have talked about on here before.  I spray it on my clean hair and it keeps it fresher longer!
The second product that I'm LOVING is Organix Moroccan Argan Oil.  It is wonderful!  This shampoo and conditioner makes my hair feel clean, soft, and shiny.   I am in L.O.V.E! Are there any hair products you are loving? Let me know, I love trying new things!
I hope you are having a great week!  I promise to update more as the wedding gets closer!!!!!

end of the year!

alright... I MADE IT!!  I made it until the end of the year!  I spent the last day of school getting my classroom organized and ready for next year!  On Pinterest and other blogs, I saw teachers cover parts of their file cabinets with scrapbook paper.  Now, at my school, you take whatever you can get your hands on, not matter how it looks!  So I decided to try this out!  And it worked out well!!  I covered the rusty top and put labels on the front!
I will miss my classroom until next year...
This weekend, David and I traveled to St. Simons for a wedding!  And wow were they lucky Beryl held off!  It was absolutely beautiful on Saturday!  It worked out perfect because it gave me an excuse to go see my good friend Sarah T!
The wedding was beautiful too!  It was outside and the temperature was perfect!  During the wedding, they had horse carriage rides going on and dancing on the lawn.  It was so fun!
Even though tropical storm Beryl wanted to stop us from having a good time, we were able to get plenty of sun!  Just before we left, we decided that even though there were 60 mph winds, we wanted one last walk on the beach.  And sure enough, we were in the background of the Weather Channel coverage of the storm for awhile!  It was pretty cool!
We had a great weekend!! Only 19 days left until the BIG day! :)

oh how pinteresting: summa wedding

I've seriously been contemplating what type of new planner I want for next year.  I've been eying a Lily Pulitzer 2012-2013 planner.  BUT I'm not 100% sold on this!  If you are a teacher, you understand how important this is!
Today I have seen this little gem floating around the internet.  Upon further investigation, I found out it was a painting.  However, I'm praying, wishing, and sending good thoughts out into the universe that this will inspire someone to really make this movie.  If you know me, but at all, you know that I LOVE LOVE ABSOLUTELY UNDYINGLY LOVE everything Disney!
I've been looking for wedding do's on Pinterest!  Obviously, the best place to do that.  I can't wait for my hair trial to see what they all look like!
And if I haven't mentioned it enough... our BIG day is almost here!!!!  Everything seems to be coming together and now that school is almost out, it seems like its coming even faster!!! I'm especially looking forward to all the pictures we are going to take!
I have a few projects I want to get accomplished before the wedding!  Isn't this frame adorable?
Why is it that I just cannot get enough of this show.  I laugh every time and I've seen every episode at least 24 times.
Happy Pinteresting!

i'm baaaaackk!

So I took a little leave of absence from my blog.... unintentionally.

I have missed you all so much and have been fervently catching up on your bloggies!  I have been SO incredibly busy!  Wrapping up school, doing wedding things, traveling home and to Atlanta for different events, and did I say wrapping up school?  Today was our last day with the kiddos! Hallelujah! We are there until the end of the week! Then it's summasummatime!  I can't wait for a break from teenage drama and attitudes!  And I'm sure they are ready for a break from me!

When I saw this on twitter I thought, how perfect.  I couldn't have said it better myself.  I find myself repeating the words, "seriously?", "you've got to be kidding", "really?" all the time.  But then I think, I was there at one time too!  How silly it must have been!
I'm also looking forward to putting these away for at least a year!  I'm thrilled about teaching government next year! It's what I'm best at and I desperately miss getting my hands dirty in politics!
I have been reading up a STORM lately!  I've seriously finished about 6 books in three weeks.  I just can't stop!  I just finished this little number and I loved it!  I would recommend it if you are into romances!  And it is set in England!
In only 24 days I get to marry the love of my life!!!  We are getting SO excited!!!  I seriously cannot believe it's finally here!  It seems like we've been waiting forever!
I hope your week has started out great!  I promise not to neglect my blog ever again!  Love you all!
Happy Tuesday! 3 more days until the holiday weekend!

be encouraged

This week is the worst for fiance.  Everyone knows that the first year of law school is the worst, and being in the midst of finals is not fun.  BUT that doesn't mean that I can't do everything I can to make it better and put a smile on his face :)

Today, I made him a bag of encouraging things.  Most of which were Pinterest inspired.  The only purchases I had to make for this bag of encouragement were the 3 cookies I picked up at Subway for a $1 and 7Up at the gas station.  I added a tag that said, "You are a SMART cookie!" to the cookie bag and a list (pictured below), 7Up-lifting ways to have a great finals week!  I found the 7Up idea on Pinterest and adapted it to fit.  Then I found as many cutely designed Bible verses and quotes and put them in a bag.  I wrote David and note telling him to only pull out one at a time, as needed to power through the week!

I took pictures of everything in case any of you are looking for a way to brighten someone's day!  Also, please comment if you have ever made something similar!  Or leave a comment if you want a copy of the 7Up-lifting ways list!  I'm always looking for new ideas!

Hope you have a marvelous Monday!

fast forward

Wouldn't it be nice if we could just fast forward to the weekend? I think so! The countdown is now 6 school days until spring break!!! Woohoo!!

AND

It is 71 days until David and I get marrrrrrriiiieeeeddddd!!!!!!! Since I've been thinking about vows the past couple days, I must have put out good vibes... because they are now showing THE VOW at the dollar theater!!!!!

Now all I have to do is talk the fiance into going to see it with me tomorrow night :)

We are also chaperoning PROM this weekend! I'm excited to see all of the students dressed up and looking pretty! It should be entertaining!

I can't wait to see pretty dresses!

And hopefully I can fit some time in the weekend to rent We Bought A Zoo. It's supposed to be so good, and I'm looking forward to seeing it soon!

One of my students introduced me to a bunch of new photo apps on my phone. And let's just say... I'm obsessed. I took a bunch of self pics, making faces, none of which are serious, they might even be weird, but I'm okay with that :) Here are a few! I used all kinds of filters. The apps are... Pici Booth, Lens+, and BeFunkyFx.

Obviously, having way too much fun with my new apps!
And lastly, because I love all of you so much :)
